The notebooks
Kids write right in the pages, so every notebook becomes a record of their own questions and discoveries.
VOLUMES 1 & 2 · FOR YOUNGER EXPLORERS [GRADES K-5]
Short, playful activities that build the habits of a researcher: look closely, wonder out loud, ask people questions, and write down what you notice.
VOLUMES 1 & 2 · FOR OLDER KIDS & TEENS [GRADES 6-12]
A guided path through a real research project: choose a question that matters to you, collect your own data, make sense of it, and share what you found.
What kids practice
Look closely at people and places.
Turn "huh?" into a real question.
Interview family and friends.
Collect and record evidence.
Spot patterns in what they found.
Explain it so others act on it.
Meet the creator
Dr. Jodie Boisvert has a Ph.D. in Sociology and Anthropology and has spent her career teaching adults to ask better questions. As a homeschooler, she brings that same work home: helping kids notice, wonder, and find real answers for themselves.
So she built the notebooks she wanted to use: real social science methods, broken into activities kids can do on their own or together, with plenty of room to write, draw, and wonder.
For homeschool co-ops & educators
The notebooks are made for group learning too, in a co-op or classroom, where kids can compare questions, interview each other, and share findings out loud.
Discounted sets for co-ops and classrooms.
Try the notebooks with your group and help shape what comes next.
Lessons plus a parent and teacher guide, built on the notebooks.
